Stirling Merchant Capital Inc. (SMCI) is a Calgary based Investor Relations firm that was founded in 2005.
Our name Stirling, was inspired from Stirling Castle in Scotland. While Stirling’s objective is to link investors and sources of capital to growing public companies, Stirling Castle has historically been an economic link to the Scottish Highlands and Lowlands or “the brooch which clasps the Highlands and Lowlands together”.
Our primary focus is to set up effective road shows for TSX, TSX.V and CSE listed companies in the Canadian Investment Community. This primarily consists of one on one meetings with the management of public companies and Investment Advisors at IDA member firms. We also strive to bring to the investment Advisor only the best small cap ideas, which is why we have formed an Advisory board and have strong JV Partners.

An experienced sales agent and medical device distributor with demonstrated history of working in the medical device industry, through both her own agency AVA as well as part of large in-house sales teams. Anna holds Masters Degrees in both Biomedical Technology and Business Administration/MBA (Candidate). She has also received medical training (MD) outside of Canada and a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology. Anna demonstrates a deep understanding of various medical specialties and she is always excited about applying her expertise to new markets. Her wide knowledge of international markets in health care related industries allows her to apply right strategies when she consults medical device and health care start-ups.
Denise joined stirling as it’s controller in November 2018 and runs her own practice – account4it Solutions. She is passionate about creating clean, consistent and accurate financials. She works with several accountants who know the hard work and dedication I provide, showing at year-end with only a few adjusting journal entries, which means cost savings for my clients.
David has an extensive entrepreneurial background with over seventeen years of experience with start-up companies; corporate and public company leadership and management; transaction structuring; business, technology and product development; with specific experience in the mineral exploration, transportation, and technologies business.
David was previously Chief Financial Officer for Trigon Uranium Corp, a uranium exploration company and publicly listed on the TSX-V; Chief Financial Officer for Cirond Networks Inc., a wireless solutions and security business enterprises and publicly listed on the OTCBB exchange; Chief Financial Officer and Director for Hawkair Aviation Services Ltd, an airline operating business; and Chief Financial Officer at Boltons Capital Corporation, a public company on the TSX Venture; Controller for Workfire Technologies, an internet start-up venture that he co-founded and sold for approximately $200 million to Packeteer, Inc., a NASDAQ-listed company.
David has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Calgary and is a Chartered Accountant.
Mineral exploration geologist, based in Calgary, with ten years experience in over eighteen countries. Focused on economic geology and the role of sustainability and environmental management.
Significant mineral exploration experience including: advanced geological mapping, reconnaissance and geochemical sampling, area selection and prospect generation and the implementation and management of diamond drilling programs. Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, Best Practice and GIS in relation to grass roots exploration through to pre-feasibility. Experience with project review for acquisition.
Specific experience in IOCG systems; low sulphidation epithermal gold-silver-polymetallic vein deposits; intermediate sulphidation gold-silver-polymetallic vein deposits; PGE-gold systems; orogenic gold systems; gold-skarn deposits, iron-ore deposits; and tin systems.

David has practiced in structuring debt/equity financings, M&A proposals, restructuring, valuations/fairness opinions. He is an accomplished presenter and balanced commentator on Oil & Gas issues and opportunities.

Having spent two years living in Japan and eleven years living in Hong Kong, Sean has worked very hard to cultivate a strong network of friends, colleagues and contacts throughout Asia and his home country of Canada. Sean understands the culture and subtle nuances of doing business and banking in foreign countries around the world and can help both private and public companies to navigate the global markets.
